With the transition from winter into spring, I am all about textures and pieces that have depth to them. I find myself adding every ruffle and fringe top into my wardrobe that I can find. The best part is that some how every top I've gotten my hands on is so different than the last.
This light weight, grey top is from Shein and I seriously can not get enough of it! The Fringe arms are so fun and bring so much life to this sweater. I'm not lying when I say everyone asks me where I got it, it's an absolute must have! Oh, I can't forget to mention it's priced at only $14 !
Happy Valentine's Day! As you may have noticed, I love the holidays especially a holiday that's all about love! It doesn't come close to Christmas, obviously, but its a nice day to show each other how much you love each other!
To me this holiday isn't about the gifts it's really all about the special things! I am a sucker for things that hold a special place in my heart. I am a sappy hopeless romantic. I cry during the movies where the guy is running through the airport to stop the girl from getting on the plane because he has to tell her she's the one. I watch the bachelor and try and convince chris that these people are actually in love, I just love love!
The other day Chris and I were at the local wine shop and as we were looking for a bottle of wine to have over a casual dinner I spotted a bottle and pointed it out to Chris, It was the bottle we had on our first date. He commented that only I would remember something like that, but it's true, I remember things like that. Those are things that are so special to me. I won't say too much, but that bottle of wine may make a special appearance this Valentine's Day! Anyways, I just wanted to wish you all a special day with the ones you love.
Hello! I'm so excited to share this post with you all, this has got to be one of my favorite looks and shoots to date. My photographer Diana and I knew we wanted to shoot in this gorgeous train station in Hoboken, NJ when we came across it on Pinterest. Funny thing is, I use to live in Hoboken, have road the trains many of times but have never been inside the station. This space is absolutely beautiful and Diana captured it perfectly, as well as my look.
Being a mommy to a two year old boy, it's rare that I throw on a dress. I like to keep skirts and dresses to special occasions and holidays. It's what makes the most sense. There really isn't many dresses in my closet for the winter season, so when I add a new one it has to really stand out!
A few weeks ago I ran into H&M to pick up a few things for Cameron, I said I wouldn't buy myself anything.. who was I kidding?! Guys, this dress was literally staring at me, begging me to buy it! The Velvet, the bell sleeves and the blush color, how could I resist? I didn't hesitate, I ran for the check out line, took a detour for the booties (pictured) and added this little number into my wardrobe.
Now I just have to hope Chris has something special planned for us for Valentine's Day ...
Over the last couple years I have really gotten into make up. To be honest, I use to shop only designer when it came to make up. But as I began to explore more into the world of beauty I noticed there were many drug store brands that were just as good if not better than the designer brands (in my opinion). Don't get me wrong, I have a big make up collection and am constantly switching things up so there may be moments I'm really into one thing and something new the next month.
I ran to my local CVS the other day and while browsing the make up section I decided to test some new products out. I'm not kidding when I say, I love every single one of these products. So that's where the idea of this post came to mind. I wanted to share with you all my favorite items, for a basic day to day look, all of which where purchased from the drug store and all were less than $10
1. Maybelline Fit Me / Dewy + Smooth: foundation was the one thing I wouldn't mind spending a lot of money on, after all, it's the base of your make up. I always wanted to make sure I wasn't caking on a product that would make me break out or wouldn't do the job covering the problem areas. At the moment my skin is pretty clear, with the occasional break out, so I'm not looking for a heavy duty foundation. Fit Me, covers, with out being thick, or looking cakey and it has a nice dewy finish which I love. If you need more coverage, apply a layer, let dry and apply another layer. This stuff easily compares to expensive foundations and at a price point of $7.99 it's a product I will certainly be sticking to for a while.
2.NYX Cosmetics HD Concealer Wand : NYX products have been a big hit lately and I can understand why. This concealer is a favorite of mine. After applying my foundation, I love to use this stuff under my eyes , and highlighting my nose & forehead . It's lightweight, full coverage and brightens you up. Priced at $5.00
3. NYX Cosmetics Matte Bronzer : I'm obsessed with this stuff! I've tried all sorts of bronzers out there, designer brands and drug store brands and this is one is one of my favorites! I wear color medium and it's the perfect matte finish. For the winter months I like to keep my bronzers to matte, once spring and summer comes I gravitate towards shimmer based bronzers. This is definitely my go to bronzer at the moment, I also love that it costs $8.99
4.NYX cosmetics Pin- Up Tease Mascara - If you don't know by now, I wear false lashes , the strips, on a daily basis. I do like to curl my natural lashes and apply a coat of mascara to them. Pin Up tease is perfect for adding a layer to your lashes and keeping them separated and looking natural. Once I apply the mascara, I then add the lash strip. This mascara allows my lashes to blend well with the false lashes. It's priced at $5.99
5. E.L.F cosmetics brushes: These make up brushes are so good and at such a low price point, there's nothing that beats them. They compare to high end brushes but also outshine the rest of the drug store brands. I've tried several drug store brushes and have found them to be, flimsy, scratchy, face-tearing, just over all bad products. These brushes are complete opposite of that. There's a brush for just about anything, I love the angled blush brush which I use to apply my bronzer and also the concealer brush which I use to apply a powder high lighter. There are a ton of their brushes that I really like but the focus of this post is what I use day to day for a basic look. The best part about these brushes has to be the price, the angled brush costs $4.00 while the concealer brush is $3.00 - That beats spending $30 per brush!!
6. Maybelline Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner & Creamy Matte Lip Color : If you don't know by now about my Maybelline lipstick obsessions, let me introduce you to it!! Maybelline has done an amazing job with their lip products! The color sensational products are on point, the colors are the prettiest, I've found some great nudes and blushes. I always love to add some definition to my lip by applying a liner, the great thing about the shaping lip liner is that it's nice and thin and it's also a twist up. I own just about every color in this collection. If you love lip colors, I'm telling you this is a must have in your collection! The liner is priced at $8.99 and the lipstick is under $6.00
Guys have got it easy, I mean.... Flowers, chocolates and some pretty sparkly diamonds and they've got one happy girl. Now guys on the other hand, they're the difficult ones to shop for! Valentine's Day is a bit tricky with the gifts for the guy, but I've rounded up some things that I know my guy loves for and came up with this gift guide. From the perfect facial products to ray ban sunglasses, some sports wear and if you're looking to really wow him this Shinola watch will really do the job
And ladies, don't over think it, you already know what your guy likes, after all, it's the small things that count! Maybe a comfy new pair of slippers is all that he needs oh and some alone time to watch his favorite T.V. shows without you nagging on him ;)
