5 Pieces you need for spring : Banana Republic

Spring is right around the corner, I can feel it. Here in New York, the temperatures have been getting warmer which is nice after the cold winters that we have. The warmer weather and sunshine always tends to influence me while adding new pieces into my wardrobe. I'm excited to be collaborating with Banana Republic  to share 5 staple pieces that are essential for spring:

1. Denim Jacket

Trade in your heavy pea coats and puffer jackets for the light weight denim jacket. Perfect for just about any look, On top of a spring dress or paired with cropped dress pants and flats. The denim jacket is sure to keep you warmer while looking stylish through the transition in to warmer months.

2. Dresses

Warmer weather means adding more dresses into your wardrobe, to be honest the last thing I want to do in the winter is wear a dress in 30 degree weather. Once the temperatures start to rise it's all about dresses. I love a dress with a good texture or print.

3. Textures/Prints

Speaking of texture and prints, it's one of this years biggest trends! Be sure to invest in pieces that have some texture to them, it's all about the frills and fringe. This Banana Republic Dress is all about texture with its denim patches and distressed denim frill details. It's such an eye catching piece and the perfect addition to any wardrobe.

4. Booties

An essential piece is the perfect bootie! Be sure to find a versatile boot that can work with different looks. The Banana Republic Magda shoe is so sleek, making it perfect to wear with a dress or throw them on with your favorite boyfriend jeans and blouse for a casual day to day look.

5. The Mini Bag

It's all about the crossbody and shoulder bags these days. Less is more, find a piece that is going to stand out with color or texture.  Suede and metallic bags are the big thing this season so add one of those into your wardrobe to add a pop to any look.

Spring Must Haves

Hello friends, I think it's safe to say I've got some major spring fever. Like winter needs to be over now!!! I want sunshine, rose all day and playing dress up in pretty spring clothes. Since we are on the verge of spring, it's time to add those new pieces into your wardrobe to make sure you are ready for warmer days!  I love the months where you can layer light weight pieces. Spring days are the best, chilly mornings turn into warm days. Since I am in the process of updating my wardrobe for the new season, I decided to round up my favorite things for you all to shop.

The Espadrille

The espadrille trend which was in full effect last year is even bigger this season and it's one that I love. It's the perfect spring summer shoe, because jute rope bottoms which is the defining element of the espadrille. There's so many styles you can rock in the wedge, flats and a casual sneaker inspired look.  I love all of the ones I've rounded up for you but my favorite has got to be the lace up Marc Fisher platform.

Jackets

Jackets are the ultimate transition piece from winter to spring, as I mentioned the mornings are typically chilly making way to warmer weather. I love layer light weight pieces, I've rounded up everything from the ultimate spring jacket, the denim jacket to ever so popular moto jacket. My favorite is this BlankNYC suede moto jacket in the color coffee bean, which is totally going to make it's way into my wardrobe!

Denim

Denim this season is all about the distressed boyfriend and girlfriend jean and also the mom jeans are making a major come back. you'll be sure to see more acid washed denim as well as distressed hems. To be honest I am totally loving the mom jeans, well the sexier mom fitting mom jean!

Denim Skirt

The denim skirt has never really died off but it just hasn't really been in the spot like the last few years, until last spring. But this spring it is everywhere. There's so many styles of it, the distressed, the embroidered and it front slit.  Through it on with a silk cami and a moto jacket and you're ready for a night out.

Tops

There's so many top trends this spring, the ruffles are still a huge trend, it's bigger now than I think it ever was, there's just no getting away, but I'm not complaining. You'll also be sure to see the bell sleeve a lot more this spring and another favorite trend of mine is the front knot tee. I love this pink cold shoulder top from the Loft that I just added into my wardrobe it's a different take on the popular cold shoulder top.

Shoes

There's so many different shoe trends this spring, the slides, the mules and the lace up. You can be sure to see a lot of blush and grey suede.  My favorite are these blush slides from Marc Fisher which I will be adding to my wardrobe as well as these blush lace up flats that I snagged from Old Navy for $24!

Accessories

I love a good accessory in the spring a pretty silk scarf or a pop of color from a bright clutch to make your look stand out. My favorite accessory that I just added to my wardrobe are the cateye sunglasses and they are currently $12 !

Happy monday! I love monday holiday's we got to sleep in a little longer and be lazy and you know just feel like monday was sunday, which is the absolute best! So hope you all are enjoying your nice extended weekend. I don't really know what is on our agenda for the rest of the day but as of right now i'm enjoy not really doing to much.

Anyways, on to this look. I am so with this ruffle trend going on right now! I just can't get enough of it, I've been adding so many ruffled tops to my wardrobe  but the best part is that they are all so different. This ruffle top in particular is a pinstripe shirt and it is loose fitting and the ruffles are on the sleeve. I've purchased sweaters with ruffle hems and knits with cold shoulder ruffles, theres just so many ways to ruffle a shirt, who knew?!

Unfortunately, this top is no longer available, but I have rounded up my favorite ruffle top finds and they are all under $50!

Creating with Love Print Photography

What started as a hobby and creative outlet, quickly turned into something bigger in my eyes.  I knew I wanted to do more with my blog than just wear clothes and shoot them with my own camera. To me, its about connecting with brands & other like minded individuals to share with you all something special. That's where Diana Robles, the photographer at Love Print Photography comes into the image.  I had the privilege of meeting Diana at an event I attend, we instantly connected, it was faith I tell you!

Diana specializes in maternity, newborn, children and family photos, but I was so lucky to have her create with me on the blog. You guys, Diana's got talent!! Since our first shoot, I was so blown away by her eye and style of shooting. She totally understood my vision and was able to bring that in to life.

The best part about Diana is her energy and perfect personality.  We laugh and joke and get all giddy when we get the perfect shot.  We not only work together but she became in my eyes, a friend and that to me is what this is all about! I look forward to our shoot days and being able to create these awesome shots.

If you are in Jersey and looking for a photographer to shoot newborn or family images I highly recommend Diana, not only will you be guaranteed beautiful pieces of art but you also enjoy your shooting experience with her. She also shoots bloggers so if you are looking to start working with a  photographer send her an email.
