Honeymoon : Sandals Royal Barbados

We made it home from our honeymoon! The past two weeks have been a whirlwind of emotions. Needles to say, the honeymoon was much needed. After months and months of planning a wedding, a getaway is much needed and Sandals Royal Barbados did good for our soul.

Going into honeymoon planning, we quickly decided we were going to honeymoon at a Sandals Resort. I planned our wedding in seven months and the thought of planning a honeymoon vacation did not sound like something I wanted to do. Sandals is an all inclusive resort and the second you step foot off the plane, there's nothing you have to worry about. After weeks of doing my research on honeymooning during hurricane season we settled on two islands, St. Lucia & Barbados, torn between the two what ultimately was the deciding factor, was that Sandals Royal Barbados is the newest resort.

ARRIVING:

After a 4.5 hour flight from JFK (New York) . We arrived in Bridgetown, Barbados. We were exhausted! We got married on Saturday and left for our honeymoon on Monday morning. We had to be at the airport by 4am so once we reached Barbados we were drained and ready to relax.  We had one of the top rooms at the resort which includes a Rolls Royce hotel pick up as well as butler that caters to all your needs while on the resort. Having a Roll Royce pick up was really nice, it was a private ride as opposed to the general bus pick up.

BUTLER SERVICE:

The other great thing about having the butler service, our room was ready upon arrival. We were greeted by our butler, given a quick tour of the property and brought straight to our room which meant we'd be at the pool in no time!

When entering our room, we were welcomed with a bottle of champagne, a cute sign on our bed and a hot bath.

The perks of having your own butler is that they really do as much as you may want to make your stay that much better. We arrived to an itinerary of things that were planned out for us, including dinners & activities. Reservations at certain restaurants would be hard to get if we didn't have the butler do it for us. It was nice to have schedule that we could go off of.  Butler service also includes unpacking of your suitcase, if you need anything pressed or laundered they take care of it for you. We requested to have coffee delivered every morning at 7:00am and they would deliver it on the dot every day. The butlers would ask us where we would want to sit each day and would reserve pool seats for us. This is one thing that could be a bit of a problem if you didn't have a butler, seats fill up and you may not get a spot if you don't come early in the am. It was nice that we could take our time getting to the pool each day. The butlers would also deliver us food by the pool if we didn't want to head to the restaurants to eat, a cooler with beer or and water . They were make sure a bath was drawn for us at the end of each day and bring snack or champagne to the room when we arrived after being out all day.  So many great perks to having a butler and I think the perfect way to honeymoon.

This is Princess, one of our butlers! (She made our stay special! )

I enjoyed a bath basically at the end of everyday.

A TOUR AROUND THE PROPERTY :

 THE SPA:

On the second day, we had our spa treatments, which were much needed! We got a couples oil massage. It was so relaxing and the spa is just so tranquil and beautiful. Once you book a spa treatment, you are then welcome to use the facility for the rest of your stay. Chris made sure he get to the steam room every morning to start his day. They have a variety of services to chose from, from couples massages, stone massages and even a salon. There's no better way to start a honeymoon off than with a relaxing massage.

EATING & DRINKING:

The all inclusive aspect of this vacation was the best!  We had 18 different restaurants to choose from. Some of the options included: Sushi, steak house, habachi, Indian. Our favorite by far was the Sushi restaurant Soy some nights, we decided to double dine! We would grab a quick appertizer early at one spot and then head to our later reservation at 9pm. I highly suggest doing this, so that you can try all of the restaurants out. The best part of all inclusive is that all the drinks you could possibly want. Our room was fully stocked with wine, champagne, beer and since we had a butler, we could request top of the shelf alcohol that we preferred. So let's just say that drinks were constantly flowing.

OVERALL:

If you are looking for a relaxing honeymoon and a place that you don't need to worry about a thing, I highly recommend doing a Sandals. Sandals Royal Barbados was the perfect place to honeymoon and we felt really taken care of.

* This was a sponsored post with sandals, however, all opinions are my own.
