After the holidays, I sort of had this uh huh moment! I was feeling run down, tired and to be honest, I felt all sorts of blah. Chris and I received this book  from my mother in law for christmas, which basically gives you an insight into whats in the brand name foods you're eating. As we skimmed through the pages, jaw dropped, we couldn't believe what we were putting into our bodies. It scared us and grossed us out. I made a decision from that moment forward to make a lifestyle change.

I started posting about this on my Instagram stories, if you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen. The response from you all to those posts, were great! It's moments like that, that really open my eyes to what I want to be doing and what I want to be sharing with you all.  First and foremost, I am a mom, raising my son and taking care of my family. I noticed that a lot of you, enjoy the content that I share about my lifestyle, what I am eating, what I am shopping, what I am doing. You are here for the real moments. So I am happy to share that with you.

So I read the book, I started to focus and become aware of what we are eating. To be honest, before this, I didn't really understand labels. I know this sounds terrible, but I just trusted in what I was buying and the foods that I was putting in my body. It was also, just something I was use to. I figured, I was eating this way for years and I'm fine? I didn't think I was consuming foods that contained antifreeze or wood chips (hard to believe right?).  I now, read all the labels that I buy and if theres something in the ingredients that I don't know, I look it up.

Mainly, I've been focusing on cooking and eating natural. Most of everything we are eating is home made, this way we know where it is coming from and what it contains. It makes me happy as a mom to know that my child is eating good. Sure, it takes extra time and effort, but is all worth it in the end.
