Master bedroom make over with Raymour & Flanigan

Today on the blog, I am sharing our master bedroom reveal with Raymour & Flanigan.

After the new year, Chris & I decided it was finally time to do a refresh on our bedroom. We have always had a queen size mattress which never bothered us until we had our son. He is four and loves to sneak into our bed at night and we totally let him stay! As he started getting older, the queen bed started feeling smaller, we decided it was time to upgrade!

Every single mattress I have purchased, has always been through Raymour & Flanigan. I had recently re-done our living room and dining area and partnered with Raymour & Flanigan, so for the bedroom, it was a no brainer to work with them as well.

Decor :

After working with Raymour & Flanigan in the past, I knew they had the mid century modern style I really liked. I searched through the site and found so many pieces that worked with our home decor style. I picked a lot of my favorite items online and made a vision board since I can tend to get a little overwhelmed.  I started with the bed frame, this was the focal point and center of my vision. I knew I wanted to do a velvet headboard and settled on this beautiful velvet blue one. From there, I picked the dresser and side tables, we decided to pick a wooden set, that was mid century modern style. I love the combination of the velvet bed with the dressers.  The rug, we picked, is so pretty too! I think it really ties the entire room together! It has the prettiest blue tones and really flows with the entire house. The lamps were the last thing on our list, They are ceramic and a grey stone with a bit of a blue under tone, the compliment the rug and bed so well .

Mattress:

As I mentioned, I have always purchased mattresses with Raymour & Flanigan. Our originally Queen mattress that we had for years was also from Raymour & Flanigan.  I just truly think it is so important to be able to go into a showroom and test out the mattress before you purchase.  I'm not going to lie, picking out a mattress can be a little overwhelming. So a little insight, I have pretty bad scoliosis and I deal with a lot of pain from it. For the last few years, our queen mattress was a plush, I hadn't had too much pain but in the last few months I started noticing my back was acting up every so often. We decided to go with a firm mattress and I thought this way be the solution. After the mattress arrived, the first week of having it, I was in so much pain. I thought I would give it at least a week to give myself some time to adjust. The pain wasn't getting better, it was actually getting worse. I knew that this firm mattress was not for me. I called Raymour & Flanigan and they told me to come right in and that we would be able to reselect a new mattress! You guys, this is major!! When spending so much money and looking for a mattress that will last you years, you want to make sure you find one that truly suits you. Sometimes, it doesn't work out the first time around and I can't even imagine being stuck with the original mattress I chose, I would of been miserable. For this alone, I will only and always continue to get my mattress from Raymour & Flanigan. It has now been several weeks, and my new plush mattress is a amazing! . I have had zero back pain and get a good nights rest every single night. Chris also picked up a memory foam pillow, he has always wanted one of these and absolutely loves how comfortable it is. We also really love our king size, we can't even believe we waited this long to upgrade in size, it makes such a difference in size. Both Chris, myself and Cameron sleep in the bed with so much room to ourselves and to be honest, most of the time I don't even feel them in the bed! We couldn't be happier.
