BLUEBERRY & BANANA OVERNIGHT OATS

With the start of 2018 I made a promise to myself to eat better and more balanced meals. Today on the blog I am sharing this easy and VERY delicious overnight oat recipe.

A big goal for this year was to eat better and I wanted to focus on pre making delicious meals. Last year, breakfast consisted of ... basically coffee. (super healthy right?!) I then found myself starving around 11:00 and just eating whatever I could get my hands on.

We all know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, It's where you get your energy to start your day. I could tell my body was lacking nutrients so I had made a promise that I would eat a healthy and balanced breakfast.

These overnight oats are very easy to prepare and you can make one jar or a batch for the week.  Did I mention they are delicious and healthy? Best of all, Cameron, my three year old was a huge fan!! He kept telling me that my oatmeal cereal is his favorite!

The base for this recipe is old fashioned oats, almond milk & yogurt, the rest you can have fun with! I decided to add blueberries and bananas this time around but you can add other combinations of fruit to your jars. I also threw in some chia seeds which are loaded with protein, fiber and high in antioxidants - Making these overnight oats extra healthy!

Now it's time to assemble !

Your base layer is going to be the old fashioned oats. (1/2 cup)

The next part of this recipe is the greek yogurt. ( 1/4 cup)

Sprinkle with your chia seeds, this is personal preference with how much you want to add.( 1-2 tbsp)

Poor in your milk, I used unsweetened almond milk but you can use your milk of choice. (1/2 cup)

Next top with your blueberries and bananas. (I had a little hand help me)

Cover with your lid tightly, shake until combined and refrigerate overnight! Enjoy.
